Join Monica Kortsha, the owner of the indie yarn business Gothfarm Yarn, to talk wool and “taste” a selection of Gothfarm's undyed, naturally colored yarns.
We all love wool. But what is it really? Monica’s talk will provide an overview of wool as a material, going from fiber, to sheep, to skein! We’ll explore how different wool characteristics – such as length, texture, and color – can be put to use to make unique yarn, and beautiful works of fiber art.
The yarn tasting will feature different skeins of Gothfarm Yarn for you to try for yourself! Yarn weight ranges from DK to bulky. Bring your own needles, hooks, and small looms. Full skeins will also be available for purchase.
All the products are made from undyed, naturally colored fibers from different fiber fauna, including sheep, angora goats and alpacas. The fiber is grown by small flocks and spun at small mills.
