Fiberside Chats

Launched in May 2020, Chats are one-hour Zoom sessions with special guests joining us to give a peek into their world. These designers & creators will discuss their unique path, creative processes, favorite techniques, latest projects, or whatever is inspiring them now. There will be opportunity for Q&A & other fun surprises like giveaways & pattern discounts for those who join!

Your seat at Fiberside Chats is just $20. This fee supports the guest speaker & the LYS you sign up under. At the registration page you can use the drop down list to choose to purchase your ticket from Knit ATX.

Have a conflict in your schedule? Don't worry we've got you covered. Many of our guests are allowing Zoom recordings of their Chat. Whether the Chat will be recorded or not will be clearly stated for each event. Recordings will be available for 1 week after the chat, only to registered attendees.

How a Passion for Fiber Arts turned into a Mission of Goodness!

Join Ali Pate from Road Trip Sock Yarn® for a relaxed Chat about her lifelong passion for fiber arts and how yarn dyeing became her “thing” as she runs her one-person, home-based studio! We will also learn about her mission to create a more environmentally friendly dyeing process. Ali wholeheartedly believes that every small, positive action contributes to a larger impact, which inspired her to launch her Greater Front Range Dye Practices.

The thrill of a good road trip often fuels her inspiration for dye creations. However, giving back to the community is a top priority and key motivator in her collection development. Along with her commitment to environmental sustainability and community connection, Ali has a deep love for animals. She’s excited to share details of the non-profits she's collaborated with on her journey to foster positive change.

Join us for this upbeat Fiberside Chat in this season of Thanksgiving! In true Ali style, she will make a monetary donation to a worthy not-for-profit with dollars generated from this event. Let’s get our yarn balls rolling together!

Statements without Words: How Fashion gives Voice

Alicia Plummer believes that everything you knit tells a story. That there are words, memories, and feelings in every single stitch, worked into the fabric by your very own hands. Our stories are never only our own, but shared experiences.

Join Alicia as she turns the pages of fashion- not solely personal style-but a mode of communication. She will reflect on how her personal style has transformed over the years, sharing photos and fun memories while also connecting it to her work as a knitwear designer. This talk will be full of cringey moments, clarifying moments, and most of all- relatable moments. You will find connection and warmth in this Fiberside Chat!
