Skills Needed: Knit and Purl Stitches, Casting On, Binding Off
If you've never tried mosaic knitting, let us tell you, it is fun and easy. Mosaic knitting uses slipped stitches to create the illusion of complex colorwork without actually having to work with multiple strands of yarn at once.
In this class, Kaiwen will teach you how to follow mosaic colorwork charts to create the Pressed Flowers Kerchief by Amy Christophers. This two color project creates a delicate bandana with a border of boxy flowers made popular with the Pressed Flowers Shawl. In addition, class will also cover how to increase (make 1), decrease (ssk), and read different styles of mosaic charts commonly found among other designers.
Class includes your choice of two skeins of Elements DK in contrasting shades.
Materials Required:
- Needles: US 6, circular or straight needles
- Copy of the Pressed Flowers Kerchief pattern, available for free on Hobbii.
May Class Date: May 4 | 2pm-4pm
