Intro to Drop Spindle Spinning

Learn how to spin yarn on a drop spindle!

This class is a hands-on experience where students will have the opportunity to touch various raw animal and plant fibers and learn about how they interact when spun into yarn. 

If you have ever seen a gorgeous knitted pattern and then wondered why your version of the sweater didn’t drape like in the picture, or wasn’t light and full like the one someone else made most likely it has to do with the yarn you have chosen. Learning to spin your own yarn can not only teach you a useful and fun skill, but it can completely change the way you pick yarns for other projects.

At the end of class you will have the opportunity to register for Drop Spindle Continued. In this second session we will focus on plying the yarn that you’ve spun on the spindle and answering any additional spinning questions. This second class is optional but is a great opportunity to explore questions that come up as you start spinning on your own.

Included in the class is a wooden drop spindle and 2oz of fiber

Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. There is a $2 cancellation fee, and 10 days notice must be given to cancel without additional penalty. Cancellations within 10 days of the class start date are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made within 3 days of class are not eligible for refund.
