Design Your Own Custom "Pleated" Skirt

Knitted skirts are becoming wardrobe staples and they’re a lot easier to knit than you might think. Because they're knitted in the round with very little shaping, they make ideal take-a-long projects. They are as comfortable sweatpants, but a whole lot more attractive. Because the skirts are designed with a custom fit, you can use any weight of yarn. For the best results choose a yarn that's at least 75% wool.

In the first of the four online lessons, Ann Budd will guide you through knitting a proper gauge swatch and taking proper waist and hip measurements to create a personal pattern for a “pleated” skirt with a perfect fit, no matter your size or shape. In the following sessions, she'll demonstrate all the steps from casting on, shaping the hips with darts, and adding pleats and stitch patterns, to binding off, inserting elastic in the waistband, and blocking. She will also be available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the multi-week course.

This four-session online class is hosted by KnitATX of Austin, Texas, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm Central Time (5:30 to 7:00 pm Pacific Time; 6:30 to 8:00 pm Mountain Time; 8:30 to 10:00 pm Eastern Time) on Mondays, April 14, 28, and May 5 and 19.

Class Schedule: - All Classes start at 8:30pm(EST), 7:30pm(CT), 6:30pm(MT), 5:30pm(PST). It is 1.5 hour class.

• Second Class - 4/28/2025 (Monday) 
• Third Class - 5/5/2025 (Monday) 
• Fourth Class -5/19/2025 (Monday)

All the classes will be recorded and you will have seven days to watch it after the class.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. There is a $2 cancellation fee, and 14 days notice must be given to cancel without additional penalty. Cancellations within 14 days of the class start date are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made within 3 days of class are not eligible for refund.
