Easing Into Entrelac Class

Entrelac Cowl Class

Pre-Requisite: students should be able to knit and purl in the round.

Entrelac is a modular knitting technique that creates a fabric that appears to be woven blocks and can looks hard to do. In reality, the knitting consists of triangles and squares or rectangles creating the illusion of a basketweave.

You can knit entrelac pieces in solid colors, or with intentional stripes, but it is especially delightful in a self-striping yarn. Not only is the knitting more magical, but the final project appears even more impressive with different colors woven together.

This class will cover not only knitting short rows and picking up stitches, which are the basic skills for completing an entrelac project; you will also learn how to knit / purl backwards, so that you can work the short rows without turning your project back and forth!

Materials Required
Circular Entrelac Cowl Pattern (free)
2 skeins of Echoes Worsted - Gusto Wool (store sample color 4520)
US 7 - 24-inch cord circular needle
1 stitch marker (for beginning of round)
Tapestry needle (for weaving ends)

Homework
You should cast on and complete the Foundation Triangles section before class. (see 2nd image for a completed homework view)

Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. There is a $3 cancellation fee, and 5 days notice must be given to cancel without additional penalty. Cancellations within 5 days of the class start date are subject to a 50% charge. No-Shows and cancellations made within 2 days of class are not eligible for refund.
